Cookies and browser storage
Last changed on 13 October 2026
The short version: this site only stores what it needs to work and what you asked it to remember. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies or scripts, no tracking pixels and nothing loaded from other sites. That is why there is no cookie banner.

Why there is no cookie banner
The law asks for your consent before a site stores or reads something on your device, unless it is strictly necessary for something you asked for. Everything on this page falls under that exception: keeping you signed in, protecting the site, remembering choices you made, and keeping what you asked the site to load or build (your club, card details and squads) so it works and stays fast.
We count visits on our server, from the requests your browser makes anyway. Nothing is stored on or read from your device for that. How it works is on the Privacy page.
If we ever add something that needs your consent, such as an analytics script or cookie, we will ask you first, with a clear choice and nothing ticked in advance. Until you say yes, it stays off.
Cookies
If you do not sign in, you get no cookie from us at all.
| Cookie, and who sets it | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| sb_ Squad Butler |
Keeps you signed in. It holds a random code, not your details, and our server keeps only a hash of it. Only set when you sign in or make an account. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| sb_ Squad Butler |
Only during Sign in with Google: checks that the answer coming back belongs to the sign-in you started. | At most 10 minutes; deleted straight away when the sign-in succeeds |
| sb_ Squad Butler |
Only during Sign in with Google: a one-time secret that proves to Google that the sign-in started here. | At most 10 minutes; deleted straight away when the sign-in succeeds |
| __cf_ Cloudflare |
May be set to tell people from bots. | 30 minutes |
| cf_ Cloudflare |
May be set after you pass a security check, so you are not checked again straight away. | 30 minutes, unless Cloudflare's setting is longer |
| _cfuvid Cloudflare |
May be set when the site limits how many requests one address can make, to tell apart visitors who share an IP address. | Until you close the browser |
All of them belong to squadbutler.com itself, are only sent over a secure connection, and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
The two Google cookies only exist while Sign in with Google is offered on the account page and you choose it. Cloudflare protects the site against attacks and only sets its cookies when its security settings call for it. On our last check, on 12 October 2026, it set none.
Browser storage
Some pages keep things in your browser's own storage (localStorage, and sessionStorage for one item). It stays on your computer: none of it is sent to our server.
| Key, and the page that uses it | What is in it | How long |
|---|---|---|
| sb. Every page | That you turned on Reduce motion in the footer. | Until you turn it off |
| sbc. SBC solutions, player prices | Whether you picked PC or console. | Until you clear it |
| sbc. SBC solutions | How you sorted the list of SBCs. | Until you clear it |
| sbc. SBC solutions | Which group of SBCs you had open. | Until you clear it |
| sbc. SBC solutions | Whether finished SBCs are hidden. | Until you clear it |
| sb. SBC solutions | The challenges you ticked off as done. | Until you clear it |
| sb. SBC solutions |
Squads the site built for you: for each card its id, name, rating, position and price, and for a card from your own club its item id. | Until the prices are updated, then deleted on your next visit |
| sb. SBC solutions |
Card details the squad builder looked up, such as rating, position, club, league and nation. | Used for 24 hours. An older copy stays until the same search is made again (it is then replaced), the storage gets full (all are removed) or you clear the site's data |
| sb. SBC solutions |
Your club, from the add-on or a club file: for each card its name, item id, card id, rating, positions, club, league, nation and rarity, and whether it is untradeable or in your SBC storage, plus when it was saved. | Until you press Forget my club or clear the site's data. With the add-on installed, it is copied from the add-on again on your next visit to the SBC page. |
| sb. Player prices | How you sorted the price list. | Until you clear it |
| sb. Player prices, and each player page | The last five cards you opened: their card number, name and card label. It shows them as buttons above the search on the price list. | Until you press the cross next to them, or clear it |
| sb. Admin panel, only for the site owner | Which period the admin charts show. | Until cleared |
| sb. Account |
Which plan you picked before signing in, so the checkout can open after you sign in. | Until payment starts, or until you close the tab |
Older versions of the site also kept sb.art.27 and keys starting with sb.sol2. or sb.cards.27. They are no longer read. The SBC page deletes the first two the next time you open it, and clearing the site's data removes the rest.
The add-on's own storage
The Squad Butler add-on is not part of this website, but it stores things on your computer too. None of it is sent to us, apart from your licence key and a device id in the licence check (see Privacy).
- In the storage of EA's web app page on www.ea.com: the add-on's settings, including your licence key; the last answer of the licence check; a copy of the device id; and a log of its last 200 actions.
- In your browser's storage for add-ons: a random device id for this computer; the club it hands to the SBC page on this site; records of what it bought, listed and completed, such as gallery sets and lazy listings; a copy of player details (club, league, nation, positions) it looked up on fut.gg; and a copy of FUT Gallery data that is renewed every 6 hours.
Removing the add-on from your browser deletes that storage (in Firefox under Add-ons and themes, in Chrome under Extensions). To remove the rest, clear the site data of www.ea.com. That also signs you out of EA.
Other sites
Our pages load nothing from other sites. Every script, font and picture comes from squadbutler.com, and the site's security settings block anything else. So apart from Cloudflare's security cookies in the table above, no other company can set a cookie through our pages.
When you go to Stripe's checkout, link.com, the Chrome Web Store or Google's sign-in page, those sites set their own cookies under their own rules.
How to clear it
- Sign out on your account page to delete the sb_session cookie.
- On the SBC page, Forget my club removes your club.
- To remove everything this site stored, open squadbutler.com in Firefox, click the padlock in the address bar and choose Clear cookies and site data. Or go to Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data, Manage Data, and remove squadbutler.com. In Chrome, go to Settings, Privacy and security, Site settings, View permissions and data stored across sites, find squadbutler.com and delete its data. Other browsers have similar settings.
The site works the same afterwards. You only have to sign in again, and your choices, ticked challenges and club are gone. With the add-on installed, the SBC page takes your club from it again.
Changes
When the site starts to store something new, this page is updated first. The date at the top shows the last change.
